October 2009

October is here; Halloween is just around the corner and, in keeping with the season, I’ve just received word that my short story, SHADOWS ON THE WALL, which originally appeared in excellent SOMETHING WICKED issue #7, has been listed by Ellen Datlow in the HONORABLE MENTIONS FOR BEST HORROR OF THE YEAR VOLUME ONE.

This is fantastic news and I owe both Ellen and Joe Vaz, editor at SOMETHING WICKED, a big thank you.

Please feel free to pop over to the Nightshade Books forum and check out the full list of “Honorable Mentions” and, of course, pick up a copy of Ellen’s anthology, BEST HORROR OF THE YEAR VOLUME ONE.

And that’s not the only good news this month, because, as promised, my weird war story, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN, is now available for download from Transmissions From Beyond.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN originally appeared in BLACK STATIC issue # 3 and is read, wonderfully, by David Rees-Thomas. Please follow the link and have a listen and, if you like what  you hear, treat yourself and pick up a copy of BLACK STATIC.

All the best,
