February 2011

Wow. It’s February 2011 already. What happened? I think I must have blinked and missed January altogether.

No worries. It just means my story VALERIA is a step closer to being released by the wonderful MURKY DEPTHS. This story is a rather nasty, science fiction, crime, horror composite and I can’t wait to see it in print accompanied by Ed Norden’s artwork. If you’ve not experienced MURKY DEPTHS yet, follow the link and check them out. You can pick up single issues (issue #15 is out right now) or, better yet, subscribe. You won’t regret it.

Watch: an anthology

Also this month (well, actually, it was the very last day of January, but what’s a single day between friends) I heard back from my namesake Ian M. Faulkner, editor of the forthcoming WATCH ANTHOLOGY due out very soon from Imprint Phoenix Publishing, that my story THROUGH THE NIGHT INTO THE HANDS OF THE PURE has now been formally accepted for inclusion. In fact, I signed and returned the contract this very morning and now there’s no turning back.

WATCH is due for release later this year as a 200 copy limited edition hardcover and is “…specifically dedicated to appeal to the voyeur that lurks in all of us”. It will feature the fantastic cover artwork of Neil Jackson and contain a veritable plethora of ”…dark tales from some of the newest and best in the horror genre….”.

I am particularly grateful to Ian for accepting THROUGH THE NIGHT INTO THE HANDS OF THE PURE, as I feel it is one of the best things I have written. Hopefully, when you get the chance to read it (and, with the other authors scheduled to appear in WATCH, you really should pick up a copy of the anthology as soon as it’s released), you will think so too. I guarantee it will leave you with a chill long after finishing the final paragraph.

Anyway, time for me to go.

All the best,

Ian.
